Completion isn't just the contractor packing up. Here's what should happen after any damp or timber works, whoever carried them out.

Your paperwork

• Guarantee certificates for the treatment, with the insurance-backing details
• A record of exactly what was done and where: invaluable for future owners and surveys
• Maintenance guidance for the treated areas, including when it's safe to redecorate

Independent verification

If you'd like certainty that remedial work achieved what it promised, whether ours or anyone else's, a post-works inspection provides independent professional sign-off: fresh moisture readings compared against the pre-works condition, photographs, and a written confirmation (or a clear list of what still needs attention). Keeping the property dry

Damp management is ultimately ongoing: ventilate consistently, heat evenly in winter, keep gutters clear, and act on small leaks quickly.
